O pinguim-de-magalhaes (Spheniscus magellanicus) eh um pinguim sul-americano caracteristico de aguas temperadas. A especie habita as zonas costeiras da Argentina, Chile e Ilhas Malvinas, migrando por vezes ate ao Brasil. Ilha da Gipoia na costa de Angra dos Reis, litoral sul do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. / The Magellanic Penguin, Spheniscus magellanicus, is a South American penguin, breeding in coastal Argentina, Chile and the Falkland Islands, with some migrating to Brazil. It is the most numerous of the Spheniscus penguins. Gipoia Island is located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, and part of the municipality of Angra dos Reis.
