The Lilac-breasted Roller, Coracias caudataus, is a member of the roller family of birds. It is widely distributed in sub-Saharan Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula, preferring open woodland and savanna.The rollers are an Old World family of near passerine birds, related to the kingfishers and bee-eaters. The group gets its name from the aerial acrobatics some of these birds perform during courtship or territorial flights./O rolieiro de peito lilas (Coracias caudata,ave coraciforme do grupo dos rolieiros, que ocorre na Africa, da faixa entre Namibia, Mocambique ate a Etiopia. Habita bosques e savanas, ausente de zonas aridas. Os rolieiros sao aves da familia Coraciidae, se encontra nas regioes de clima quente a temperado.
