O objetivo da instituicao eh conservar, catalogar e promover a sua obra.Inicialmente localizada na antiga residencia do artista, decidiu-se construir uma nova sede no ano de 1996, em um terreno doado pelo governo do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul.O projeto foi a primeira obra do arquiteto contemporaneo portugues Siza Vieira na América do Sul...Localizada no bairro Cristal, as margens do lago Guaiba, a inauguração da nova sede ocorreu dia 30 de maio de 2008 e ja esta em funcionamento./....The Ibere Camargo Foundation was created in 1995 by the widow of the brazilian painter Ibere Camargo (1914-1994), Maria Coussirat Camargo, for whom he left his collection. The purpose of the institution is to conserve, catalog and promote their work.Initially located in the former residence of the artist, it was decided to build a new headquarters in 1996, in a land donated by the government of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.The project was the first work of the contemporary Portuguese architect Siza Vieira in South America.Located in the neighborhood Cristal on the banks of the Guaiba Lake, the opening day of the new headquarters occurred May 30, 2008 and is already in operation.
